Ex-Bayelsa Commissioner, Hails First Female Professor of Chemistry, Ayibaemi Spiff, at 80

A former Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Bayelsa, Daniel Iworiso-Markson has felicitated with renowned Chemist, Prof. Ayibaemi Ibuteme Spiff for joining the league of octogenarian. 

In a goodwill message to her, Iworiso-Markson, described the erudite scholar as a rare gem who has made her home state of Bayelsa and Nigeria proud with her scholarly works. 

He said as the first female Professor of Chemistry, she has contributed so much to the body of knowledge in the country and has to her credit, mass mentorship of many people in the science field. 

Iworiso-Markson praised her for doubling her academic works with public service, having and still holding several positions, stressing that she is the ideal “girl-child” that broke all barriers to succeed. 

According to him, at 80, she has achieved so much and prayed God to continue to give her the strength and wisdom to offer her usual invaluable service to humanity. 

He called on young girls aspiring to be great to read the story of Professor Spiff and draw valuable lessons and inspiration to help shape their own journey to greatness.
