Men of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested 55 year old money ritualist, Mr. Tunde Olaiwola, with fresh human head in Ondo.
He was paraded alongside eight others suspects arrested for various criminal offences ranging from murder, kidnapping and cultism.
While parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Akure yesterday, the states new Commissioner of Police, Mr. Oyeyemi Oyediran, said the cleric was apprehended at Ajagbale Area of Oka, Ondo town.
Oyediran said: “On December 23, 2021, at about 0920hrs, the Police received information that a self-acclaimed cleric named Mr. Tunde Olayiwola, a suspected ritualist was about to receive a consignment suspected to be a Human head. A fresh human head was found in his custody.”
He said the police also arrested a hunter, Mr. Ismaila Ojo, for shooting a 70 years old man who is his neighbour while defecating in the bush at the back of his house.
The police commissioner said that based on the recent cult activities and supremacy battle between rival cult groups in Okitipupa, the Anti-cultism section of the command arrested a 18 year-old, Mathew Thankgod and Olabokunde Micheal who is 20 years in their hide out, stressing that they led the police to one Olayeye Segun, Aged 25 years who is a blacksmith who produced and supplies them with Arms with which they operate, noting that cut to size single made English barrel was recovered from the suspects.
“Also, based on the viral video of one suspected kidnapper, Ayobola Samuel, arrested in Ekiti State, on November 9, 2021, the suspect mentioned one Dayo Titus AKA ‘Dayo Igwe’ as the master mind of the kidnap of Deeper Life Pastor in Akure. The police started trailing the said ‘Dayo’, and this paid off as the suspect was arrested in Ondo Town on the 2nd of December, 2021.
“On December 17, one Mr. Ayodele Andrew Bankole, ‘m’ aged 26 years of Adabo Oke-aro went to a hotel known as ‘Enjoy Your Life’ few minutes later he jumped down the stairs of the hotel and took to his heels, he was pursued and brought back to the hotel room, a young lady of about 24 years was found in the pool of her blood with fresh injuries on her neck and chest. She was confirmed dead at the hospital. A blood stained knife was recovered at the scene.
“On December 20, about 16.00hrs, one Haruna Shaibu ‘m’ was discovered to have been missing, the elder brother of the deceased contacted the Police that he suspected one Paul Samuel Aged 29 years, best friend of Haruna to have used him for money ritual because the deceased was seen last with Paul and that Paul’s mother called him that his son was seen in Yara in Kogi State negotiating to sell a motor cycle which is suspected to belong to the missing Haruna.
“When Paul Samuel was arrested he confessed to have killed his friend so that he could sell his motorcycle. A TVS motor cycle was recovered from the suspect.”
The 55 year suspect arrested with fresh human head, Mr. Tunde Olaiwola, confessed that the head found in his possession was to be used to ensure he had a better life.
He said: “I bought it from someone people at the rate of N60,000. I want to use it for money ritual. I was arrested at Oka, in Ondo town. This is my first time of doing this business”.
