NSCDC Arrests 4 Suspects for Attacking School in Katsina

The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested four suspected thugs for attacking Adamu Danbaffale Model Secondary School, Dumukur community in Maiadua, Local Government Area of the state.

The suspected criminals were nabbed on December 2, 2021 by operatives of the NSCDC stationed at the school to provide security cover against invasion by hoodlums.

In a statement issued to journalists in Katsina yesterday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Tukur Abdara, said one of the suspects attacked their officer with a machete in an effort to disarm him.

Abdara, in the statement, said: “The suspects were identified as: Musa Idris ‘M’ 18 years of Fanfon Malam Ashura Quarters, Daura town; Habibu Salisu ‘M’ 18 years of Rahamawa Quarters, Daura town; Umar Bashir ‘M’ 18 years of Rahamawa Quarters Daura Town; and Yahaya Badamasi ‘M’ 20 years of Chedi quarters Daura Town.

“The arrest which occurred on 2nd December, was undertaken by our operatives stationed at the school to provide a security cover against attack by criminals.

“The officers, gallantly subdued the assailants who initially attempted to criminally trespass into the premises of the school (albeit unsuccessfully) while brandishing dangerous weapons.”

He, however, warned criminals to desist from attacking schools “as the command will not relent in its effort to protect the lives and properties of the people of the state.”

While expressing the command’s readiness to protect schools from attacks by criminals, Abdara urged the general public to assist security agencies with credible information that will ward off criminality in the state.
