Cardoso High School Alumni Gives Back to School

Members of Cardoso High School Old Students Association (CHSOSA) recently executed a project tagged ‘The Adopt-A-Desk Project’. This involved the provision of three-seater desks and benches to Cardoso Senior and Junior High School, Badia-Ijora, Lagos.

A statement by members of the CHSOSA said 60 units of the three-seater desks and benches were delivered to the senior school and 37 units to the Junior School, which brought the total to 97 units. The Alumni also delivered five (5) sets of office furniture to the Staff room of the Senior school.

The statement said during the official handover ceremony, which was held on October 22, the President of CHSOSA, Mr. Peter Nwogu showed appreciation to members of the Alumni for their kind support towards raising funds to execute the project.

He congratulated both the school authorities and students, while encouraging them to take good care of the new furniture provided.

He further stated that the Alumni hope to do more for the school in the coming years.

The Project Coordinator, Mr. Adesina Adeigbe on his part congratulated every member of the Alumni for supporting the project, he also appreciated members of the project team for their steadfastness in the supervision and execution of the project.

On their part, the school authorities lauded members of the Alumni for remembering their roots and assured that the new sets of furniture would be properly utilized and maintained. A representative of the students also showed appreciation to members of CHSOSA.

The statement added that after the official handover ceremony, members of the Alumni went into Career focused counselling session with the students, with the theme: ‘Facing the Future’. Seasoned members of the Alumni who have excelled in various fields of endeavour took out time to speak to the students on the challenges ahead and how they can excel despite the prevailing social and economic situations in the country.
