Police Disperse ENDSARS Protesters at Lekki Tollgate

Although all has been quiet in the northern axis of Lagos as youths across the nation mark the first anniversary of the ENDSARS protest, in the Lekki axis, it has been a tug-of-war between the police and the protesters.

The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State. Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, had assured journalists on Saturday that it’s the fundamental rights of the people to protest and that they would be allowed to protest as long as they do not constitute public nuisance.

The police were however hard on the protesters as many youths were arrested and manhandled by security operatives.

Calm has returned to Fagba where a face-off between Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani community led to arson.

Also, Ojodu-Berger area and Alausa, which were venues of the protest last year, were calm Wednesday.

Many business centres were under lock and key, although people were seen going about without molestation.
