Brands Pledge to Support Youth Engagement, Growth

Nigerian brands have pledged continuous support for the growth and development of youths in the country.

The brands renewed their commitment at a dinner and award presentation ceremony to culminate the 2021 Higher Institutions Football League (HiFL).

At the event, outstanding players were rewarded for their performance amid encomiums, in the presence of dignitaries across all sectors including ace footballer, Kanu Nwankwo.

Reaffirming their commitment to the youth segment, the sponsors of HiFL including Minimie, Bold Drink, Stanbic IBTC and  Nivea Men expressed confidence in the youth , hence their continued investment in the segment.

Earlier at a Press conference, Managing Director of The LaCasera Company, Chinedum Okereke, expressed delight in the brand’s partnership with HIFl, adding that the project aligned with the company’s commitment for a more developed youth population.

 “The vision of Bold is to unleash the talent in Nigerian youths. As a brand, we relate with Nigerian because they are daring, adventurous and they love fun. It is a great joy to be part of the HiFL initiative. We understand that when we talk about the youth in Nigeria, we should identify them with positive things such as this project”.

On his part, GTM & Promotions of Beiersdorf Nigeria, makers of Nivea Men, Nathaniel Adewusi stated that the brand remained committed to engaging the youth positively.

 He said, “If Nigerian youths are positively engaged, the country stands a better chance regarding crime prevention. The goal of Nivea Men regarding the development of the Nigerian youth is aligned with that of the HIFL.

 “All we want to achieve is to ensure that Nigerian youth positively channel their energy, thus, this competition is affording us that opportunity. Based on what we have seen and our experiences and feedback from the various centres, we hope to sustain this partnership with HiFL. We align with the fact that the competition is for the youth, who are the future of the country.”

Public Relations Manager of Minimie, Omotayo Abiodun enthused that the brand “is fulfilled” to be part of initiative: “Indeed, we are very delighted to be on this platform because the HiFL platform is very strategic for our brand. We share the same values and objectives which is working towards nurturing and growing young talents. Minimie will always support any youth-centric activities. It has been a smooth journey so far and we hope that the relationship continues like this and grow in subsequent editions.”

 Head of Global Markets at Stanbic IBTC, Sam Ocheho, expressed delight in the organisation’s support of the initiative, stressing that the organisation would always invest in initiative that would improve the youth population.

 In his address, the Director, PACE Sports and Entertainment Marketing Ltd, Mr Sola Fijabi declared that beyond every other factor, the initiative aimed to re-engineer the mind of the youths to always think and do things rightly.
