Ebeledike Plans Big for 30th Edition of PHC Ladies Open

The Lady Captain of the golf section of Port Harcourt Club 1928, Chief Mrs. Lady Lizzy Ebeledike has assured golfers that will be participating in the Port Harcourt Ladies Amateur Open scheduled for this weekend of absolute safety as the Golf Tourney will attracted more than 130 participants.

Ebeledike, while briefing press ahead of the epic golf event that entered its 30th edition this year said there was consciousness of the Covid19 pandemic, and that is why the organising committee devised better arrangement with view to decongest the golf course.

“We are not leaving any stone unturned towards ensuring a memorable tournament and we are also putting proper measures in place to comply with the new normal that operates all over the world. The good thing with the game of golf is that it is not contact sports. Moreover it is an outdoor game with a lot of trees where one can breathe fresh air,” she said.

The Lady Captain however, commended the sponsors that came out to support the event, stressing that sponsorship had not been so easy like before, due to the adverse effect of the pandemic on economic status of the multi-national companies.

“We are thankful to those that supported us; we were able to get few corporate support and so many individual sponsors”, said Chief Ebeledike.

Lady Ebeledike added that she has been trying to fulfill all promises made in her inaugural address as the Lady Captain of the club, which include bringing in new innovation that would move this lady section forward.
