Hosting Aisha Buhari Football Tourney Reconfirms Sanwo-Olu’s Love for Girl Child, Says Gafaar

The Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluwatoyin Gafaar has stated that the hosting of the Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s Football Tournament by the Lagos State Government was a confirmation of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s love for the girl child and youths.

He disclosed this on Wednesday at the remodeled Mobolaji Johnson Sport Arena after the Match between Nigeria’s Super Falcons and the Eagles of Mali.

“This hosting by the Lagos State Government is a testimony to the fact that Lagos is ready to host any International sporting event, not only football, because of the love that Sanwo-Olu has for the girl child and youths, he decided to host this very important tournament

“Thank you, Mr. Governor, for making this happen and for making this Infrastructure ready for the hosting of this tournament,” said Gafaar.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated the Eagles of Mali 2-0 in an entertaining match watched by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, FIFA President, Gianni Infantino and President NFF, Amaju Pinnick among other dignitaries.
