The roaring power bike blasted through the aisle laid with green carpet. The stupefied audience watched as the towering female form- the Kwik delivery rider-removed the crash helmet as she disembarked from the bike. Her smile broke the suspense. Fehintoluwa Okegbenle otherwise known as Fehinty made a memorable entrance to the hall inside Marriot Hotels, GRA Ikeja Lagos as she was unveiled as one of the brand ambassadors for Kwik Delivery, a leading delivery and logistics solution provider.

Some minutes later, she was joined by the Former National Football Team Captain, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha who rode his Kwik motorcycle calmly, amidst camera flashes to the delight of mobile phone-frenzied audience who applauded him as soon as he was recognized.

The event was declared open by the COO of the technology-driven delivery firm, Yinka Olayanju, while the CEO, Romain Poirot-Lellig ushered in the newly endorsed ambassadors of the brand.

The choice of brand ambassadors for Kwik Delivery is quite interesting given their antecedents in Nigerian history. Fehinty, on the one hand, is a female power-biker and an entrepreneur with a great passion for travelling to various regions on her power bike. She rode on a power bike from Lagos to Abuja and returned in one day. Also, she is on record as the first female in Nigeria to complete the 1000 kilometres on a power bike in one day thus winning Iron Butt challenge. On the other hand, Austin Jay Jay Okocha is a phenomenal mid-fielder and Atlanta ‘96 Olympian known for his dribbling skills having played for top international clubs such as PSG, Bolton Wanderers, Hull City amongst others before retiring in 2008. A very valuable member of the ‘Dream Team,’ he was very fast on the football pitch and retired while the ovation was still loud.

It comes as no surprise that Kwik Delivery recognizes the roles of these two Nigerians in history and has built a connection that will enhance the brand’s visibility.

Since its launch in 2019 in Lagos, Kwik Delivery has become synonymous with swiftness, efficiency, passion, innovation and drive.

“Kwik Delivery is all about enabling Nigerians to succeed in their business endeavors and to win,”Jay Jay Okocha remarked adding that Kwik has a special place in his heart. While reflecting on the company’s reputation for speed and efficient service, he stated: “These are all qualities and virtues which my fans and I fully recognize and that I can proudly defend as Kwik’s brand ambassador.”

Fehinty who is a final-year Accounting student at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife has been a rider for 20 months. Within that period, she has made a name for herself, thus inspiring a generation of young women who may aspire for careers or endeavours in a male-dominated field.

“As a biker, I am constantly challenging myself to take be more creative and break new grounds, so I am proud to be associated with a company like Kwik Delivery which has consistently shown its commitment to innovation, service delivery and excellence through its many packages for Nigerian businesses,” Fehinty said.

Kwik Delivery is a fast-growing technology company enabling Nigerian businesses and merchants to sell online, deliver to their customers and get paid in a simple, fast and reliable manner through a smartphone app. It counts close to a thousand delivery partners and over 70,000 B2B customers. The company currently covers Lagos and Abuja and offers its customers to book bikes, vans and trucks within metropolitan areas.

“We are extremely proud to unveil these two brand ambassadors and we know that they will carry high Kwik Delivery’s values of passion and breaking new grounds,” Romain Poirot-Lellig, the Founder and CEO, Kwik Delivery declared. Kwik Delivery is the trading name of Africa Delivery Technologies SAS.
