International record label, Dream Empire Music, has launched operations in Lagos, Nigeria, with the unveiling of three talented artistes, Lisa Viola, Ekeh Chiaka Joseph, a.k.a Majeeed (singer/songwriter), and Ifeanyichukwu Chigbo Kennedy, a.k.a Verchi.

Now working with same producers that delivered Afrobeats hits for Grammy award-winning Burna Boy, Angolan born, Australian raised Lisa Viola, who would soon drop her debut single titled ‘Lagos’, featuring label mate, Majeeed, explained why she relocated to Nigeria to continue her already established music sojourn.

She said, “I chose to come to Nigeria because in Australia I was the only artiste doing and representing Afrobeats on a lot of levels; so whenever a Nigerian artiste comes, I would be the opening act or they would call me to help with promotions or with dancers. So, I was always a part of that community and let’s be real, the hottest tunes are coming out of Nigeria, so I was like I’m coming here because this is where I want to be.”

Speaking on his music at the unveiling, Majeeed, who pushes beyond his limits to exert himself as a boundless artiste in his own space said, “I don’t have a specific genre of music. I like to explore. So I would say I’m a versatile artiste; I pick up very fast and I don’t limit myself. I know Dream Empire Music understands my vision, they understand where I want to take my career to. That’s why I put pen on paper with them. I feel the label aligns with the vision and we are ready to make magic.

Having worked with Seyi Shay, Omotola Jolade Ekeinde, Harrysong, among others, Afrocentric RnB singer/songwriter, Verchi, boasts of a music brand which would comfortably compete on the Nigerian music scene. Verchi who is set to drop a debut EP titled ‘Afro Diets’ said, “My voice is the first thing about me that is different from any other person. The way I write my music is different. I sing more about love and my experiences. I don’t focus more on heartbreaks, I sing about love. What’s going to make a difference for me is my sound.”

The trio of Lisa Viola, Majeed and Verchi already have a single titled, ‘Ogaju’.
