The Governor of Kebbi State, Mr. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has disclosed that only God will determine the person that will succeed him after his tenure at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
Bagudu commended the All Progressive Congress (APC) stakeholders and members for the peaceful conduct of the party’s ward congress in the state and said that only God gives leadership to any person he wishes at his own appointed time.
He said: “True to this, as it is now, only the Almighty Allah knows who will succeed me. But whoever will be, I pray that he will be better than me and will make Kebbi State greater than its now.”
Bagudu applauded the party leadership in the state for their commitment to the efficacy of the consensus strategy as successfully deployed by the party in exercise.
The governor, while addressing party supporters shortly after the affirmation of the new leaders of his ward Nasarawa 2, said history has just repeated itself as consensus had at several times been adopted and it worked well.
He said: “We are not, therefore, in anyway surprised that the strategy has become handy to us in Kebbi,”
He said the APC in Kebbi State is intact and indivisible and will continue to be so.
Earlier, the Chairman of Kebbi State Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Abubakar Nayaya, who is one of the stakeholders in Nassarawa 2 and Mr. Nasiru Kalli, former Chairman of Nasarawa 2 welcomed the committee sent from the National Secretariat of the APC to monitor the ward congresses in the state.
The newly elected ward Chairman of Nasarawa 2, Mr. Murtala Umar , expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and other executives by people of the ward.
