Muslims Mark Eid- el  Kabir With Congregational Prayers in Niger

Hundreds of Muslims yesterday thronged to various the Eid- Prayer grounds in Minna to offer prayers to Allah in commemoration of this year’s Eid-il Kabir festival.

They include prominent Nigerians like former Military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, the Governor of Niger State, Mr. Abubakar Sani Bello, the Deputy Governor of Niger State, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, a former Niger State Governor, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu among others who attended the two rakkat prayer that were led by the Chief Imam of Minna Central Mosque, Alhaji Ibrahim Abu Fari.

Fari also slaughtered the first ram to allow other Muslims to perform the rites after.

In his sallah message the Special Adviser on Political and Strategy to the State Governor, Mr. Nma Kolo, asked the people of the state to use the Eid il Kabir festival to pray for the restoration of peace and unity in the state and Nigeria as a whole.

Kolo also told Muslim faithful to pray for the return of peace to areas under bandit attacks and the release of all those in the captivity of bandits, especially the girls of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School, Tegina, in the Rafi Local Government Area of the state.

He said: “We should remember to always be our brothers’ keeper by supporting the less privileged ones among us always

He also used the occasion to sue for peaceful congresses across the state by urging members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to shun any act that could lead to a breakdown of law and order anywhere in the state.

Kolo also solicited for the support and cooperation of the people for the administration of Governor Bello to enable him complete the task of revamping the economy of state, saying a lot has been done in the areas of provision of infrastructure especially the construction of roads.
