Nigeria’s southeast region has been in the news lately for wrong reasons. But there is a glimmer of hope from Abia State, nicknamed God’s Own State. A non-profit organization called Nwa Aba Foundation has stepped to the plate, providing succour and restoring hope to thousands of Abians across the 17 local government areas of Abia State.
Formerly known as Amangwa Foundation, Nwa Aba foundation was established by Mr. Amaechi Antwan Ahuama, a United States based Nigerian entrepreneur of international repute and brain behind Montana West Africa group.
Amaechi famous for his philanthropic heart is one of Nigeria’s shinning lights in America who is bent on giving back to his community through charity.
Described as a great personality, Amaechi is a fine example of the term “self-made”. After fighting his battles, and enduring his own tribulation time, he has been able to overcome the many challenges he faced and found fulfilment. Perhaps, his story influenced his passion for philanthropy and the drive behind Nwa Aba Foundation.
For Amaechi, charity begins at home. And that’s why he’s focusing solely on the people from his beloved home state, Abia State.
With millions of naira already expended on the project, Nwa Aba foundation has carried out several charity projects which include youth empowerment, poverty eradication, welfare packages and so much.
For instance, in the area of youth empowerment, Nwa Aba foundation is the organizer of Mgboko Amairi Unity Cup which has provided a platform for some of Abia State’s football talents to showcase their talents, and potentially attract foreign scouts.
Nwa Aba foundation has done a lot in the area of educational grants. The foundation has also concluded plans to purchase JAMB form for thousands of indigent Abia students. As if that wasn’t enough, the foundation is also famous for its welfare packages ranging from food distributions (bags of rice) and other items to households in Aba and environs.
The secret to living, they say, is giving. Nwa Aba foundation founder, Mr. Amaechi has learned that secret and he is quietly shinning light on humanity, particularly on his people in God’s Own State. He’s indeed a worthy ambassador from Abia State.
