President Muhammadu Buhari has said that all appointments he makes are strictly based on merit of the individuals and not on which ethnic group they belong to.
The President has often times been criticized for ignoring the principles of federal character in appointments and for appointing more northerners in strategic positions.
However while responding to a question during an exclusive interview on the Morning Show on ARISE TV, the broadcast arm of THISDAY, he said he cannot discard merit for balance and federal character.
