Sanusi Departs Awe for Abuja

Deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has left Awe, Nasarawa State, where he was relocated to after his dethronement by the Kano State government.

Sanusi had been under house arrest since Monday in Nasarawa State, after he was dethroned as Emir of Kano.

He left the town with Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasiru El-Rufai who visited him on Friday.

Governor El-Rufai confirmed that the deposed emir was heading for Abuja.

Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court had earlier on Friday ordered Sanusi’s release from detention.
