Glad Tidings! As “Iya Adura” Esther Ajayi Celebrates Birthday … Why She Moved Back to Nigeria

Founder of Love of Christ Generation Church (C & S) turned a year older a few days back. The woman of God and fervent prayer warrior was in joyous mood as she celebrated the occasion with family and friends. The popular preacher who is one of the most visible white garment evangelists around frequently shuttles between her church in the United Kingdom and Nigeria, spreading miracles everywhere she goes.

“Common” is not a word that the discerning will associate with Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi Abimbola. In her hands, the impossible becomes the new normal. Not many people ever thought that the two major white garment churches in Nigeria, Cherubim and Seraphim (C & S) and Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) would ever readily come together yet she made it happen. Her annual “Celebrate the Comforter” crusade brings leaders from both denominations together in a spiritual bonding exercise.

What many people might not know about the woman fondly addressed as Iya Aladura by her teeming fans is that she is a prolific philanthropist. In fact, her passion for the underprivileged is only rivalled by her spiritual ministry.
And this is why she has ditched her London base in recent times and is staying more and more in the country. Through her Esther Abimbola Foundation, she is reaching out to the poor and downtrodden, the neglected, and those requiring of rehabilitation. She has taken up the gauntlet of contributing her quota to the alleviation of misery in her homeland. Hence her need to remain in the country overseeing her foundation.

Though she started the foundation in the UK, charity, after all, begins at home. Her foundation has already carried out lots of philanthropic and humanitarian projects in various parts of the country. Among its laudable activities is the ongoing rehabilitation programme for returnees from Libya and other parts of North Africa. It is also involved in efforts to assist those displaced by the menace of Boko Haram in the north.
