Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 2, Oredo Local Government Area, have passed a vote of confidence on the Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki-led administration for a second term to enable the governor consolidate his development strides in the state.
The confidence vote was passed at an event to celebrate the landslide victory of the APC in the March 9, 2019 State House of Assembly polls in the state. The leaders pledged continued support for the success of Governor Obaseki-led administration in the state.
Chairman of Ward 2 of the APC in Oredo LGA, Hon Osagie Edosomwan, said the victory party was organised by the leaders to appreciate members of the APC for their hard work, dedication and commitment, which contributed to the success of the party at the State House of Assembly polls.
Edosomwan noted, “We are celebrating the victory of our party and to thank our people for voting for APC and also urge them to do more for the task ahead. We have resolved in Ward 2 that Governor Obaseki deserves a second term.”
Chief Whip and Edo State House of Assembly member representing Oredo East Constituency, Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha applauded Governor Godwin Obaseki for the massive spread of developmental strides across the state, adding that the achievements being recorded by the governor made the victory of the APC an easy task to achieve.
Iyoha said, “Hon. Osaro Obazee was victorious in the election, so we are here to thank our ward members for producing the highest number of votes. Their overwhelming votes show that they truly support Governor Obaseki.”
He said members of the ward have resolved to support Governor Obaseki for a second term based on his track record, adding, “For the first time in the state, we are seeing sanity restored to the public space. There is also ample infrastructural development. We are telling the governor that we support him and will mobilise everybody to support his re-election.”
Also, the APC Women Leader in Ward 2 of Oredo LGA, Mrs Dorcas Ehioghae, said, “In Ward 2, we did not lose any unit, we won all the 36 units in the March 9, 2019 election. The women persevered and ensured the party came out victorious.”
Mrs Ehioghae said women have started mobilising for Governor Obaseki’s second tenure, assuring, “We are fully prepared for 2020. We have started canvassing and mobilising for votes for the APC and Governor Godwin Obaseki ahead of the gubernatorial election in 2020.”
