Determined to pursue a policy towards sustainable and quality environment, Hall 7 Real Estate Limited has said it is planning to plant about 3,000 trees within a 110, 000sqm perimeter.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Olayinka Braimoh, who led young Nigerians in the tree planting exercise at the Imperial Vista Estate, Abuja to commemorate the International Day of Forests (IDF), said trees have invaluable benefits to human existence.

He said:“We are identifying with the World Tree Planting Day. We take tree planting very seriously. Green is very important to human. Apart from preventing deforestation, trees absorbs carbon dioxide and purifies the air we breathe around us, considering the pollution in the environment.

“Tree planting is very important in any environment. Aside the fact that it helps absorb carbon dioxide, it also beautifies the environment.

“Any environment that does not have trees planted around it is lagging behind and does not appreciate nature. We are also campaigning against deforestation and encouraging Nigerians to plant trees and promote the green environment which every country is working towards achieving.

“In developed societies of Europe and America, people are encouraged to imbibe the culture of tree planting in their houses to promote the green environment. Trees also guard our houses against wind and promotes security.”

According to him, “We are showing support to the ministry of environment by planting trees. International Day of Forests is more than a random day for us at Hall 7.

“It is a rallying call for us to strive towards a safer and environmentally friendly society. Apart from preventing deforestation, one of the things we try to do is to ensure that on all our developments, we ensure that we have enough green around.

“In supporting the government to ensure sustainability, I think that can only come by enlightening the populace as to the benefits of tree planting.”
