IMC Tasks Consultants on Improved Standards, Inducts Berry as Fellow

 

The Director General of the Institute of Management Consultants, Prof. David Iornem, has tasked professionals in the consultancy field to brace up on ISO: 20700, based on improvement of transparency and understanding between clients and practitioners as encapsulated in its foundation and purpose practice.

According to him, ISO has set over 20000 propriety, industrial and commercial standards, covering manufactured products technology to food safety, agriculture and healthcare, explaining that this in essence constitutes the Quality Management System (QMS).

Iornem, made the disclosure at its 2019 seminar papers presentation in Abuja, acknowledged that IMC is an affiliate of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), approved by federal government is inducting, Dr. Benoy Berry, the Chairman and Founder of Contec Global Agro Limited (CGAL), a subsidiary of CONTEC Global, with its fellowship because of his immense contribution to human capacity and knowledge development at country and global levels.

The DG, said it is reassuring to confer the fellowship on Dr. Berry, with the highest grade of the institutes’ membership reserved for accomplished professionals of his status in the profession.

He said: “In addition to your fellowship and even more importantly, you will gain the CMS status (Certified Management Specialist) after participating in a workshop that gives you sufficient knowledge towards the Certified Management Consultants (CMC), licence to be granted by the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI).

“The Board of Trustees and the Governing Council of the Institute of Management Consultants this day elect Dr. Benoy Berry, as Fellow in recognition of outstanding academic and professional standing and demonstrated commitment to creating, maintaining, extending and promoting the highest world standards of management consulting practice, ethics competence and client service.”

Dr. Berry, who was represented by Ms. Angela Godwin Ewulu, Head of Admin, at the occasion, is a renowned global entrepreneur and manager of human resources is reputed to be highly skilled in decision making both private, corporate and public sectors governance.

His company, CGAL, an organically driven agro processing and fertilizer value chain facilities using science and using Information Communication Technology has attracted partnerships from states and federal governments from across the country.

The company has particularly attracted sterling commendations from Prof. Ben Ayade and Mr. Godwin Obaseki, Governors of Cross River and Edo States as result of its willingness to share in the company’s expertise in research based agriculture in making their states hub of agricultural development.

As part of its competence, the company has developed appropriate trials and production of various plants species and currently undergoing research works on plantain, potatoes, garlic, onion, pineapple and cocoa.

By deploying cutting-edge science technology techniques through innovative know how, Contec Global Agro Limited has produced plant-based products biologicals that could be used for integrated nutrient management and integrated pest management in bio-pest management in bio fertilizers, bio-pesticides, bio weedicides and soil conditioners.

According to his citation, Dr. Berry through the company is currently supporting efforts to raise a crop of young Nigerians farmers in various parts of the country, as it is currently supporting hundreds of graduate farmers in the country, adding that it is engaging 20,000 youths in the practice of organic farming practice as it plans to engage 16 million youths in farming by 2020.
