The second edition of the Lagos Kids Mini-marathon organised by the St Saviour’s School Ikoyi Endowment Fund is scheduled to hold today in Ikoyi Lagos.

The 2017 inaugural edition was well attended with over 1000 children representing 22 schools in Lagos.

It also attracted guests like Kate Henshaw, Alibaba Akpobome, Asisat Oshoala, Chief Mary Onyali, Eku Edewor, Maje Ayida. Organisers have promised that this year’s edition promises to be even bigger and better.

Themed “Active Kids Rock”, the mini-marathon is recognised as Nigeria’s only kids-focused marathon and will see children participating in the 1.2km, 3km, and 5km distance races respectively.

Although the event is kids focused, the mini-marathon is designed as a fun day of family outing with exciting activities planned for kids and parents.

This event is supported by AXA Mansard, Access Bank and MTN.

Part of the proceeds from the event will be used to support Slum 2 School Africa, a volunteer-driven social organisation working to empower disadvantaged children in disadvantaged communities to realise their full potential through the provision of educational scholarships, health, and other psycho-social support.
