The Syrian national was abducted by unknown gunmen six days ago, who also killed the three policemen guarding the premises.

She disclosed that the abducted Syrian was released and dropped along Arkilla area of Sokoto metropolis by Monday midnight.
The PPRO described the foreigner as hale and hearty and in good health contrary to insinuations that he had been killed by the kidnappers.

“As you can see, Nadir is hale and hearty and in good spirit. For us, we are quite happy that he is in good condition.
“I will not be able to give you details on how he was released because it is an operational detail.
“Whether ransom was paid or not is what we don’t know. Nobody has asked through the police money for the release of Nadir,” she said.
She further said the command was making frantic efforts with a view to apprehending the kidnappers.

Nwawe to this end,  urged the members of the public to go about their lawful businesses without any fear, assuring that the police would ensure their safety.
“There is no cause for alarm. Foreigners living in Sokoto and residents should not panic but go about their businesses without fear,” she added.
