Tonight World Boxing Federation Junior Middleweight champion and Global Boxing Federation World Super Middleweight title holder, Gifted Chiori, says he will stop Teemu Touminen in the third round, when he defends his title in a 10-round bout against the Finnish boxer in Atlanta Georgia on May 12.
The fight, which is promoted by E Butt Promotions and Bishop Entertainment, is powered by Achievas Entertainment and has nine undercards, while Chiori would be headlining his first title fight of his boxing career.
Chiori promised the huge population of Nigerians and Africans in Atlanta victory over Touminen, saying he is in top shape for the bout, despite making a return to the ring after some time out.
“After being out of the ring for almost two years now, I can’t wait to bring back the fire come May 12. With the kind of rigorous training I have gone through, I should be able to stop him (Touminen) in the third round. I’m not underrating my opponent or being over confident, but I have perfected the strategy to stop him early after watching some of the tapes of his previous fights,†the Ajegunle-born boxer, who is based in the United States, said.
Chiori’s career record stands at 13-0, but he admitted that defeating the Finn would not be an easy task..
“Touminen is a tested boxer and a worthy opponent any day and could be very tricky,†he said
Chiori defeated German opponent, Tom Reiche, to retain his WBF Junior Middleweight title after he stopped him in the fourth round.
