The weeklong golfing activities at the Captain Hosa Okunbo at 60 Pro-Am Invitation Golf Tournament holding at the Benin Club golf course, Benin City will come to end today.
The golf tournament which teed-off on Monday February 12, featured about 300 professional and amateur golfers who came from different golf clubs across the country for the event put together by the Benin Club Golf Section in honour of the philanthropist, who also is the patron of Benin Club.
The chief host of the tournament, Kingsley Ehi Okunbo, the MD/CEO of Vision Air Products, expressed satisfaction at the turnout of golfers taking part in the tournament that teed-off in honour of Captain Hosa said the tournament has lived up to expectation.
Okunbo remarked that earmarking the sum of five million naira as prize money for the professional golfers was the highest in the history of the professional golfers in Nigeria, adding that various other prizes would be awarded to all those who distinguished themselves at the event.
Meanwhile, part of the activities outlined for the closing day is the amateur men handicap 0-17 and ladies handicap 0-28 follow in the same order while the professional final match day tee-off immediately which will eventually lead to the closing and presentation of prizes later in the evening.
â€œWe have witnessed competitive golfing actions since Monday when the caddy category throughÂ TuesdayÂ while the professionals tournament takes centre stage on same day for their final match.
â€œSo, today, being the final day, the guests ladies and special guests will open the day tee-off byÂ 6.30am, just after the amateur men handicap 0-17 and ladies handicap 0-28 follow in the same order while the professional final match day tee-off immediately which will eventually lead to the closing and presentation of prizes later in the evening.â€ MD/CEO Kaydees said.
