Mall for Africa Offers African Diaspora Direct Online Shopping Platform

Ahead of the holiday shopping season, Mall for Africa (MFA) is offering African diaspora living in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada opportunity to directly purchase and send products home to family and friends through its e-commerce platform.

The platform has been described as the first for the African diaspora community.
Previously, the only way for diaspora to purchase/send products home was to physically go into a store, purchase the items, pack, and ship them, according to a statement.

However, it stated that “Now, with a simple click, diaspora can choose from billions of items, from more than 200 of the best US and UK retailers in the world including Macy’s, eBay, Juicy Couture, Nordstrom, Farfetch, Overstock, DSW, and Carter’s.”

It listed the some of the reasons to purchase through MFA to include 50 per cent savings on shipping, easy-to-navigate platform; opportunity to return product if product is incorrect; no hidden fees as well as no insurance needed.

According to data from Pew Research in 2015, there were 2.1 million African immigrants living in the United States and is steadily climbing, with the numbers roughly doubling every decade since 1970.

Founded in 2011, MFA is a global e-commerce company which enables Africans to purchase products from more than 200 US and UK retailers. Continuing with its mission to allow customers to “shop global, pickup local” the company plans to enter 20 new countries over the next two years. With its proprietary platform and guaranteed payment system, Mall for Africa is the first-ever logistics, product delivery, payment, and e-commerce integration company offering consumers billions of products with zero inventory.
