Dakinda Football for Every Home Limited, Nigeria’s first indigenous sportswear brand, has launched its sport game known as Dakinda Penalty Game (DPG) in Lagos.

At the opening ceremony which took place at Lagos State sport complex, Yaba (DPG permanent playground), at the weekend, the Chairman of the sport company, Emmanuel Akpakwu, told THISDAY that the game, which is his brainchild, is a product of a lot of effort, hard work, brainstorming and sleepless nights,

He said the penalty game, which is strategically operated to compliment and promote economic benefits and physical and healthy lifestyle for all Nigerians as well as their brand, is played with a token of N100 per spot kick which also qualifies the player for a raffle draw.

Akpakwu told THISDAY that “Dakinda Penalty Game is an initiative incorporated by us with the ideology of creating entertainment and bringing people together. Our penalty game is not only recreational, but also offers fringe benefits such as instant prices and raffle draw winnings. Individuals can participate in our penalty game by purchasing paper tickets from our retail outlets and our penalty grounds or by downloading our mobile application from Google Play Store to purchase E tickets.”

According to him, “Our tickets cost N100 and every ticket purchased qualifies individuals to take one penalty kick and also participate in our daily raffle draw and monthly jackpot. Engaging in our penalty game is not limited to being a participant only, we also operate a competitive franchise programme with attractive commissions on ticket sales tailored to meet your budget and surpass your expectations. Anyone who is interested in being a part of the franchise programme should meet our staff for further information.”

He further disclosed that sport firm is into partnerships with the Sickle Cell Society of Ireland and Kanu Heart Foundation to give back to the society hence the launching of the Dakinda Penalty Game.

Akpakwu said as the first indigenous company to own a football club in Europe (Slovenia), Dakinda Football for Every Home Limited is aimed primarily at putting a truly Nigerian sport brand’s merchandize in every practice pitch, academy, playing ground and home in Nigeria.

On the concept of playing the DPG, the General Manager of Dakinda Football for Every Home Limited, Mr. Lanre Olarinoye, said each player is tasked with his ability and skill to shot the ball from a penalty spot successfully through any of the three FIFA standard-size football holes on any of the goal posts he or she chooses to win a prize and financial reward.

“One needs to be able to kick the ball from a distance of 12 metres into the holes on the goal post net. Also, note that we have two type of goal posts; the first one has one hole while the other has three holes. We give the player the opportunity to choose which goal post he or she would like to take his penalty kick,”

He added: “We endeavor to keep pace with modern innovations, but set the pace in delivering an unparalleled recreational experience to our customers, courtesy of our dedicated research and development team. Our initiative is structured to encompass a broad spectrum of professionals, as it seeks to mitigate inherent setbacks attendant in the service industry, ranging from administrative to technical issues, and even the human error factor.
