OGSSOBA Celebrates School’s Golden Jubilee

Government Secondary School Omu-Aran Old Boys Association (OGSSOBA) has packaged a series of events to celebrate the 50thanniversary of the school.

The events will hold at the school between Thursday and Sunday.

The celebration which will feature cultural dance and various forms of entertainment, will kick off with a visit to the Olomu-in-Council, a road show and a football match.

On Friday morning, a reunion school assembly will be held where all the old students will put on the school uniform while the principal will address the assembly. A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Prince Lateef Fagbemi will thereafter deliver the anniversary lecture before the Jumat Service at the Central Mosque. The annual general meeting will then be held at 4p.m. followed by the annual dinner.

During the celebration, a number of projects undertaken by the various sets of the school will be commissioned as well as the launching of OGSSOBA magazine anniversary edition and the cutting of the anniversary cake.

Dignitaries who will deliver goodwill messages on Saturday 11thinclude Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed; President, Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo who is an old student of the school; the Principal of the School, Mr Olusegun Abifarin, also an old student as well as the National President of the association, Prince Olusegun Adeniyi.

Others are the Chairman, Golden Jubilee Committee, Gen. Yemi Abidoye and the chief host, HRM Oba Charles Ibitoye, the Olomu of Omu-Aran.
