‎Plateau Attacks: Middlebelt Youths Converge on Jos against Open Grazing

Following the recent gale of attacks across some local government areas in Plateau State in which over 50 persons were killed, youths from the six states of the Middlebelt region Thursday morning converged on the Plateau State House of Assembly to deliberate with representatives of the Executive and Legislative arms of government on the way forward.
A statement by Mr. Emma Zopmal, President of Middle Belt Youth Council, revealed that the meeting is aimed at compelling governments in the region to ban open grazing in the entire region.
The interface holding at the House of Assembly, which commenced at 10am, has in attendance youth representatives from all the states in the region, irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliation.
Zopmal said a communiqué will be issued at the end of the meeting on the resolution of the council on the protracted crises between Fulani herdsmen and farmers/villagers in the region.
The states in the region are Kwara, Kogi, Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa and Niger.
