Caleb Varsity to Organise Convocation

The Vice Chancellor of Caleb University, Prof. Ayandeji Aina, has disclosed plans by the university to organise its 7th convocation ceremony on 13th of October at the University Multi-Purpose Hall.

He said that the convocation which would have as its theme: ‘Your Role in Shaping Nigeria’s Future’ would be delivered by the Group Chief Executive Officer, First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Mr. Ladi Balogun.

Aina who made this known at a media briefing in the university, said for the 2017 convocation, the school would be graduating 355 undergraduates and 44 postgraduate students which sum up 409, which he said was higher compared to 2016 when the school graduated 225 students.

He further noted that from the 409 students that would be graduating, 365 are undergraduates, while 44 are post graduates, adding that from the above number 14 students made first class honours, while 142 made second class honours upper division, 162 made second lower division and 47 made third class honours.

Aina added that in the post graduate programme, they had a total number of 44 students, 12 of which were from the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and 32 Masters in Science of Architecture (MSA).
According to him: “In the undergraduate class, we have Miss Elizabeth Nejo, from the Department of Mass Communication as the Best Graduating Student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.85, while for the Post Graduate Class, we have Quadri Ahmed from the Department of Architecture with a CGPA of 4.91.

“We are happy to announce this year’s convocation to the public because this for us is our harvest season. It’s noteworthy to state here that in the 2016/2017 academic session we have received accreditations for 13 new programmes approved for the university. Some of the new programmes are B.s c Taxation, B.s c Environmental Management and Toxicology, B.s c Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, B.s c Public Administration, Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) Computer Science and Master of Science in Computer Science.”
