Mamador Preaches Healthy Lifestyle on World Heart Day

PZ Wilmar, makers of Mamador cooking oil has counselled Nigerians to adopt a healthy lifestyle that will keep the heart and other parts of the body functioning well.

The firm gave the advice on the occasion of the 2017 World Heart Day which its celebrated alongside the Nigerian Heart Foundation, NHF, the Federal Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation, WHO.

The day was observed with a mass heart awareness campaign and free health screening across government agencies and parastatals to educate people on heart health and how to keep it.

Speaking during the occasion in Abuja, Marketing Director, PZ Wilmar Mr. Kalyan Bandyopadhyay, said this year’s theme is a call to action for everyone to be involved in the quest for a healthy heart.

“We believe awareness is critical and that is why we have continuously engaged our esteemed consumers on healthy life style which includes what they consume. We believe that the secret to a healthy living is closely linked to how healthy the heart is and that is why we want consumers to make decisions and adjustments that will favour their heart health.”

Also speaking, Category Marketing Manager of Mamador, Chioma Mbanugo said that the company will continue to champion and advocate the cause for a healthy heart amongst Nigerian as well promote government initiatives that are aimed at healthy lives.

“The National Heart Awareness Campaign is a laudable initiative that we are very passionate about because we believe it will help Nigerians make healthier choices. When Nigerians make good choices based on the knowledge they have, then we can achieve an improvement on our life expectancy rate in Nigeria. This is the objective of our #pledge4yourHeart campaign and the goal of Mamador for every Nigerian. Our passion for the well-being of consumers is the reason we produce healthy cooking oil and embrace campaigns that will benefit them,” Mbanugo stated.

The Executive Director of NHF, Dr. Kingsley Akinroye commended the brand for teaming up with the foundation, adding that such partnerships are necessary particularly now that the government is driving at a change in the attitude of Nigerians towards healthy living.

 

 

The company’s Million Hearts Mission initiative, launched in 2015 has also proven effective in raising the awareness level of Nigerians to healthy living.

So far, over one million consumers across Nigeria have been reached with the campaign which offered consumers with heart healthy recipes as well as with heart healthy lifestyle tips, fitness classes, free blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) checks among others.
