Abubakar Charges Nigerian Students in Diaspora to Project Nation’s Image

Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, has enjoined Nigerian students, especially those studying abroad to concentrate on their studies and acquire knowledge so that when they return to the country, they will contribute their quota to the onerous task of nation-building, like other youths have demonstrated in emerging economies of the world.

He also charged them to be good ambassadors of the country by exhibiting behaviours that will project the good image of the country in line with the “Change begins with me” campaign as well as the entire change disposition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

In a statement issued by the press secretary to the governor, Abubakar Al-Sadique, in Bauchi Monday, Abubakar gave this charge after being conferred with an honorary doctoral degree in Political Science, Honorary Causa and Best West African Administrator and Governor Award by ESTAM University, Cotonou, Benin Republic.

The governor said education is the key that opens other doors of opportunities, adding that since assumption of office in 2015, his administration has consistently been dedicating 20 per cent of the state’s budget to the revitalisation of education in the state.

He observed that education is accorded priority attention because of his administration’s conviction that with the attention education needs, health, politics and all other critical sectors will also improve.
