Police Begin Investigation of drowning of House Keeper in Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command has commenced investigation into the alleged drowning of a middle-aged house keeper in Enugu who was identified as Oruku Justus.  

 A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Ebere Amaraizu,  sated that the deceased drowned in a well around Nkpokiti pocket layout of Ogui in Enugu state on Thursday last week. 

Amaraizu disclosed that the death of Oruka had attracted residents around the area who gathered to see things for themselves and with expression of shock and sorrow  as they received the ugly information about a man that allegedly got drowned in a well filled with water in  a place identified as an uncompleted building located at a pocket layout Nkpokiti Enugu.

“It was gathered that  the deceased later identified as one Oruka Justus of Uli street Ogui Enugu  had allegedly on 21/9/17 got drowned in a well filled with water inside a compound containing an uncompleted building located at pocket layout  Nkpokiti Enugu and where the deceased  is  said to be working as a house keeper. “It was further gathered that when he was eventually recovered from the well and rushed to Eastern Nigeria Medical centre for medical attention, he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. “Meanwhile, the operatives of the Enugu State command of the Nigeria Police Force are trying to unravel the circumstances surrounding what could be classified as a sudden and unnatural death of the victim. The body of the victim is now deposited at the hospital mortuary of Eastern Nigeria Medical Centre for medical examinations,” the statement noted.
