Until his appointment, Mr. Agbo was the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Relations, a statement by the outgoing CPS, Mr Daniel Iworiso-Markson, indicated yesterday.

His selection followed the nomination, screening and confirmation of Mr. Iworiso-Markson as a commissioner-designate by the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

Iworiso-Markson, a seasoned media practitioner and public relations expert, is expected to be sworn in anytime soon and assigned a portfolio to become the latest member of the State Executive Council (SEC).

Also, the governor approved the appointment of Mr. Fidelis Soriwei , a senior editor with The Punch newspapers to take over from Mr. Agbo as the new Special Adviser on Media Relations.

In the same vein, Dickson approved the re-assignment of Dr. John Idumange to the newly established Directorate of Policy and Programmes as the Director-General.

Idumange was until his re-assignment the General Manager of the Bayelsa State Broadcasting Corporation, Glory FM 97.1, Yenagoa.

The statement thanked Idumange for his ‘meritorious services’ to the state at various times and different capacities.

The outgoing General Manager of Glory FM also received plaudits for the various reforms he carried out to reposition the station for a more effective service delivery and the dissemination of government’s policies and programmes.

Dickson also approved the appointment of Mr. Tari Febabor as the new General Manager of the State Broadcasting Corporation.

The statement said Mr. Febabor had previously served as the Deputy General Manager of the corporation, noting that all the appointments were with immediate effect.
