Governors of the South-east states Wednesday held a closed door meeting with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, at the Government House, Enugu.

Apart from Imo Stae Governor, Rochas Okorocha, and his Abia State counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu, who are yet to arrive as at the time of filing this report, Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and chairman of the forum, as well as Dr Nkem Okeke, Deputy Governor of Anambra State have already arrived for the parley.

Kanu on his part arrived before 2pm and went straight to the Executive Council chamber, venue of the meeting.

Though details of the meeting with Kanu were not made known as at press time, sources said it might be connected with plans by the federal government to get the court to revoke his bail conditions in order to facilitate his rearrest.

Several groups including the Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Igbo Leaders of Thought have all expressed their opposition to any attempt to rearrest Kanu.
