Consolidated Hallmark Insurance (CHI) Plc, was recently presented with the NIS ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standard certificate by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria(SON).
With this, CHI has emerged the second insurance firm out of the existing 56 insurance and reinsurance firms to be presented with the global quality standard certification.
Presenting the certificate to the company in Lagos, SON Director General, Osita Aboloma, congratulated the underwriting firm for the NIS certification merit, which he described as outstanding achievement but reminded the management that the insurance services it is offering are extremely important to Nigeria especially in the face of the federal government’s directive to insurance industry to attract investments in Nigeria.
Aboloma, who was represented at the occasion by a director in the organisation, Mrs. Oluremi Ayeni said it is heart-warming to recognise the steps the company is taking in improving the insurance sector by putting in place a quality management system.
He said the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System approach now provides the company a robust, globally recognised and acceptable solution to address the challenges associated with consistently meeting requirements and addressing future needs and expectations of customers in an increasingly dynamic insurance business environment.
“It also ensures that you consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements while managing the internal and external issues and addressing the risks and opportunities associated with insurance business,” he stated.
He said achieving this certification, is a demonstration of CHI management system’s conformity to internationally acceptable standard requirements and the ability of the company to get it right the first time and all the time.
According to the SON boss, the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System framework reflects the company’s mission and vision to be a first-choice provider of insurance and other related services in Nigeria while preserving wealth, reducing anxiety thus creating value.
He enjoined the company to note that the quest for excellence is unending because quality is for everybody and is an everyday concern.
“Our challenge to you today is to keep the system healthy and up to date to reap the benefits of ISO approach to Quality management.
He warned that SON, already has in place, a process of receiving information from your customers, to assure itself that certified firms are living up to their expectations and improving continually.
According to SON, by this achievement, CHI has joined the privileged class of Quality Management System certified organisations in Nigeria.
Receiving the certificate, CHI Managing Director Eddie Efekoha, said his company is committed not only to meeting the expectations of its clients, but surpassing them.
He said CHI, is on a mission to preserve wealth, reduce anxiety and create value for its clients.
“We preserve their assets through insurance, and when losses occur, we reduce the anxiety that usually accompanies such.
“In doing this, we have ensured our various processes are in tune with best practices, in line with the stipulations of the International Organisation for Standards.
