Kano Lawmaker Gets Reprieve as Petitioner Withdraws Recall Petition

The petition seeking the recall of Hon. Abubakar Galadima Kuki, a member representing Bebeji constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, has been withdrawn

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said thursday that his constituents had written back to withdraw their petition.

In a statement issued by the Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Prince Adedeji Soyebi, the commission said following the withdrawal of the petition, it would also call off the recall process.

The statement said: “Further to the statement issued on August 14, 2017, on the above, the petitioners, through their representatives who presented the petition, have written to the commission to withdraw same.

“Accordingly, the commission will take no further action on the matter, the petition having been withdrawn.”
