A few days ago, Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola,  the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Senate President,  Dr. Bukola  Saraki, turned 50 in a blaze of  glory.

Makanjuola couldn’t have been happier,  particularly as the party was attended by several heavy- weights in the nation’s  political arena.

Although the birthday celebration was devoid of the usual razzmatazz often associated with such attainment in life, not a few shared in the joy of the man described as very hard-working,  meticulous and humble.

In attendance at the event, which held inside the Senate building, were Saraki, Ben Bruce and Senator Dino Melaye,  among other principal officers of the Senate.

One of the highlights of the event was the cutting of the commemorative but modest birthday cake by the celebrant.

For him, it was a prayer answered,  as he had  anxiously looked forward to the day when he would hit the proverbial golden age.
