OHAKIM PLANS LOW KEY 60TH BIRTHDAY

Many would mistake him for being in his mid fifties but the youthful former governor of Imo state, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim , will indeed turn 60 on Friday, August 4, 2017. His family of seven, led by his amiable wife, Chioma, has however opted for a low key celebration with a church service at St. James Anglican Church, Asokoro, Abuja, which will be followed by a dinner with a few friends and well wishers.

It was gathered however that family members had to work hard to convince the former governor to call a table as he is said to have earlier planned to mark the day with just staying at home and praying. Ohakim is said not to be in the mood for celebration because of what a source described as the “mood of the nation”. But he was finally prevailed upon by his amiable wife, Chioma, whom, sources say, is herself a prayer warrior, to go for a more elaborate thanksgiving service and host a few friends.

Many would have expected that Ohakim, who ruled Imo State between 2007 and 2011 and whom many believe still has his eyes on the governorship seat, to use the occasion of his 60th birthday to make some ‘noise’.
