Ahead of the 2019 general election, the Mega Progressive Peoples Party (MPPP) has disclosed that it will change its name to Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN).

The National Chairman of the party, Hon. Hamisu Santuraki, made the disclosure in a jointly signed statement yesterday in Abuja.

Santuraki said the party registered in August 2010 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would also change its logo and move to its new national secretariat in Abuja.

According to the statement he signed with the party’s National Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Shombi Kanze, the party said the new name would be ratified at its emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting coming up on July 25 in Abuja.

The party said other issues for consideration at the NEC meeting are preparations for the November 18 Anambra State governorship election and the state of the nation.
“We are on top gear for the Anambra governorship election coming up in November 18. We are also working for the 2019 general election and part of our strategies was changing the party name to Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN) from the Mega Progressive Peoples Party (MPPP). We are also changing the logo.

“This is the wish of party members to rebrand the party for greater achievements. The NEC would also discuss the state of the nation and come up with its position formally,” Santuraki said.
He said the party would soon move from its Lugbe Airport Road national headquarters to a more befitting office in central area of Abuja.
