The embattled National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Oye, has said that not all court judgments in Nigeria are obeyed, and that the recent order of mandamus by an Enugu High Court sacking him was one of such.
Oye, who was a guest at the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), where he featured at the Correspondents Forum, said his faction of the party remains the authentic APGA, adding that nothing could change that.
Speaking at the forum, Oye who was accompanied by top members of his party dismissed Chief Martin Agbaso as one who was trying to reap where he did not sow, stating that the court-pronounced chairman was not a member of the party in the first instance.
He said: “I took some members of my party to Agbaso’s house in Imo sometime in the past, and our mission was to woo him into APGA, and he told us that he cannot join APGA, that APGA was a motor without engine. How can such a person turn around and be the leader of APGA?
“What he is doing is, wasting his time. I was called upon to come and contest the position of the national chairman of APGA, and I did so and won in a convention. The only way they can remove me is through a convention, and the Supreme Court has said so in the matter between Sheriff and Makarfi,†Oye insisted.
