PDP Insists on Peace, Unity

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi’s Natonal Caretaker Committee, has said its believe in the peaceful co-existence of Nigerians irrespective of their political, social, cultural and religious differences remains unshaken.

In its message signed by its Head, Publicity Division, Mr. Chinwe Nnorom, on the Eid-El-Fitr celebration, the party urged Muslims and indeed all Nigerians, to imbibe the culture of peace, tolerance, love, sacrifice and unity. “We insist that Nigeria’s unity cannot be overemphasized! We therefore re-iterate on the party’s position for Nigerians peaceful co-existence irrespective of our political, social, cultural and religious differences; and urge all to eschew violence and stop all forms of provocative utterances that are capable of disintegrating us and detrimental to our peace and oneness. “It appears that the celebration may be low-key nationwide due to the present harsh economic situation in the country coupled with non performance of the APC-led administration that has made life difficult for most

“We urge the citizens of this great nation not to despair but to continue praying for God’s intervention,” it said.
