The Bauchi State Government Wednesday disclosed that it received the sum of N109 billion from the federation account from June 2015 to May 2017.
The state Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Garba Sarki Mohammed Akuyam, disclosed this in Bauchi while answering questions from newsmen at a ministerial press briefing to mark the two years of the present administration of Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar in the state.
Akuyam also disclosed that the government expended about N110.6 billion in the last two years on the payment of salaries and others, adding that “the difference in the amount received from the federation account and amount expended is about N1.6 billion”.
While explaining that N6.2 billion was realised from its locally generated revenue (IGR) in the state in 2015, he however stated that the account of 2016 had not been released.
According to him, “The account of last year is yet to be released so we cannot speak of the figure. We witnessed tremendous increase in the IGR when compared to 2014 IGR which was N4 billion.”
