Segun Awofadeji in Bauchi
Mr. Segun Awofadeji of THISDAY Newspapers has emerged the substantive Chairman of Bauchi State Correspondents’ Chapel.
Awofadeji emerged the chairman of the group as the Assistant Secretary of the state Correspondents’ Chapel, Mohammed Sani Mohammed was suspended indefinitely over alleged financial misconduct.
Others the Congress confirmed to fill the rest of the positions includes: Mallam Ahmed Kaigama, Mr Ali Garba, Hajiya Hafsat Adebayo and Mr Kawu Muhammad as Secretary, vice chairman, financial Secretary and Auditor respectively.Susan Edeh remains the union’s Treasurer.End
IPAC Hails Ugwuanyi on Good Governance
Ahead of the 2017 democracy day celebration, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Enugu State chapter, has scored Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi high on good governance, peace and infrastructural development.
In a statement signed by the state chairman and secretary of IPAC, John Nwobodo and Ken Onyekaonwu respectively, the body expressed delight at the achievements of Ugwuanyiâ€™s administration â€œin just two years in office, saying â€œthe governorâ€™s many positive actions, projects and programmes have elevated governance to a higher pedestal in the stateâ€.
IPAC also applauded the governorâ€™s exhibition of vision, candor, humility, simplicity, all inclusiveness and other uncommon leadership styles, which they said have endeared him to the people of the state.
â€œYour Excellency, following our objective and dispassionate assessment, we are pleased to say that we appreciate your achievements in the areas of road construction and rehabilitation including intervention on federal roads; rural access roads and rural interconnectivity through bridges; peace and security; regular and prompt payment of salaries of civil servants and release of subventions to government parastatals and institutionsâ€.
