A claimant in a land dispute case before an Ikeja High Court yesterday collapsed at the corridor of the courtroom and died.The man, who was in his late 30s and whose name could not be ascertained as at the time of this report, was said to be in court to testify in the ongoing disputed land matter before Justice O.A Olayinka.
According to an eyewitness who did not want to disclose his name, just before the matter was called, the deceased who had been in the courtroom, started coughing blood and went outside the court only to be pronounced dead by his lawyer some minutes later.
The blood was said to have choked him as it came out in lumps, staining his shirt and the floor.
The counsel notified the judge about the incident which prompted the judge to rise for the day.
The body of deceased was immediately taken to unknown hospital with a state ambulance.
