South West Youth Development Summit Set To Creat Viable Economic Foundation

South West Youth Development Summit is to mobilize 500 youths across the South West Zone to deliberate on creating a viable economic foundation for the youth, Agriculture, ICT, Ethics, Values and Culture.

The Central Working Committee of the South West Youth Development Summit, led by the Director General of the Summit, Mr Temitope Eniola, made this known through a press statement issued which copy was made available to newsmen in Lokoja yesterday.

According to him, It will also open the minds of youths to new ideas in generating wealth stressing that the Summit will come up with recommendations to government and relevant stakeholders.

He mentioned that Central Working Committee will be meeting and consulting with other prominent Nigerians from the South West Zone towards the success of the Summit

He further disclosed that the Central Organizing Committee recently visits the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi* to seek his royal blessing and endorsement of the Summit scheduled to hold in Lagos, between 12th and 14th April 2017.

He noted that the 13-man delegation consists of young professionals from business, pubic, media and the diaspora.

“The Central Working Committee of the South West Youth Development Summit, which is the first of its kind met the Royal Father to intimate him on the vision, objectives and the set goals of the proposed Summit.

“The team officially invite the highly referred monarch as the Patron of the all important Summit,” he noted.

The press statement added that the Ooni, Oba Ogunwusi while responding, thanked members of the Working Committee for the visit and graciously accepted the invitation as the Summit Patron and Royal Father of the Occasion. He said the Summit could not come at a better time than now when many of our youths are disillusioned, abandoned and lack good role models and mentors.

The Ooni said he shares the same vision along with the organizers and promised to galvanize other leaders, government and stakeholders in the south west to also support and participate in the Summit.

The South West Youth Development Summit is organized by the South West Youth foundation in partnership with the NYCN and Youth Development and Reformation Initiatives. The Theme is: “Youth in a Changing Economy; Challenges and Prospects.”
