Nigeria has crashed out of African Clubs Hockey championship ongoing in Nairobi Kenya.
The country represented by the Niger flickers of Minna returned to Nigeria on Sunday after failing to cross the group stage in the Championship.

Chairman of the Niger state Hockey federation Alhaji Sani Kutigi who led the country’s delegation blamed Nigeria’s ouster from the championship “on lack of early preparation for the tournament”

Sani kutigi who made this known on Wednesday in a chat with sports writers admitted that the Nigeria representative, did not go to camp early to make the team technically sound.

According to him “Many of the countries that featured in the year championship were in camp for about six months while ” our team did not have more than a week camping “.

“Last year we won a Bronze medal at the continental level and we were hoping to build on this achievement in the same competition this year but we couldn’t make it past the group stage, hopefully by next year if we are able to pick the ticket again to represent Nigeria we will surely do better”.

He thanked the Niger state government for sponsoring the team to the competition saying that next year they will not disappoint the state and the country at large.
