The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr.  Godwin Emefiele, was yesterday honoured alongside Managing Director, United Bank for Africa (UBA), Kennedy Uzoka and his Diamond Bank counterpart, Uzoma Dozie by the Institute for Service Excellence and Good Governance (ISEGG) for their contributions to the development of the country.
Other top industrialists and politicians were also honoured.

Speaking at the ceremony in Abuja, the father of the day and former Minister of Finance, Shamsudeen Usman, urged the awardees not to relent in their efforts in rebuilding the nation.
He urged both private and public office holders to live above board in all their dealings.

Emefiele, who bagged the award for service excellence and good governance and the lifetime award in banking, finance and national development described the recognition as an honour that would stimulate him to sustain his efforts in the development of the country.
Represented by one of his aides, Emmanuel Ukeje, the CBN governor assured Nigerians that he would work hard to steer the nation to prosperity, the perilous economic times notwithstanding.

He said: “The award would ginger us to work harder. It is in recognition for sacrifices and efforts in the last two years since Emefiele mounted the saddle.
“It is quite challenging to superintend over the service sector especially at this peculiar economic era. We all should work hard. Service excellence will lead to better and quicker recovery of the economy. Award is in recognition  of CBN’s efforts in moving the economy forward,” Ukeje said.

Other recipients include: Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) who was recognised for road safety and regulatory excellence; Kenedy Uzoka, Group Managing Director, UBA who bagged the Service excellence and good governance award; Uzoma Dozie, Group Managing Director, Diamond Bank who bagged the same award.
