Ondo Poll: Jegede Promises to Review Status of Traditional Rulers

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), has promised to look into the agitations of some traditional rulers in the state, regarding poor grading.

The PDP candidate made the promise while responding to calls by some Grade ‘D’ royal fathers known as Olu or Baale, for a review of their status at Igunsin, a community in Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State.

Jegede, who spoke during the official inauguration of a modern borehole in the community, gave the assurance that the issue grading of some royal fathers would be addressed and justice would be done.

He thus urged the traditional rulers to sensitise their people on the need to vote for continuity on November 26.

Jegede, who was in company with a group of PDP leaders, led by Hon. Adedayo Omolafe, popularly known as ‘expensive,’ to the inauguration, also told the people of Igunsin not to have any doubt concerning the construction of roads leading to the town and adjourning communities.
Earlier, the Olu of Igunsin, Oba William Adeoye Akinyemi, promised Jegede and his team the total support of people in Igunsin town.

He also assured them that all other Olus in the area are in total support of the PDP candidate.
Meanwhile, youths in Oshinle area of Akure, the state capital, had expressed support of Jegede as the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in the November 26 election.

Giving the approval at a gathering of the youths coalition in Akure,, the youths described Jegede as a man of the people and a popular choice with great virtue that attracts many to him.
The youth leader, Arifalo, said Jegede is loved for his kindness ,humility and his blue- print which he mentioned, has a lot on offer for the youth and “especially as it relates to making us become employers of labour “
