Ogun Lawmaker’s Car Crushes Two to Death

Two persons were confirmed dead in a road accident tuesday along Abeokuta-Siun Expressway, while nine others were critically injured following fatal accident involving a Nissan Serena space-bus marked 25 OGHA belonging to one of the members in the Ogun State House of Assembly.

The accident was said to have involved a Toyota Picnic passenger space-car marked (LAGOS) KSF 957 BB and a Nissan Serena space-bus marked 25 OGHA belonging to one of the members in the Ogun State House of Assembly.
While confirming the accident, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Adegoke Adetunji, said 17 people were involved in the auto crash.

Adetunji further stated that the driver of the Toyota Picnic space car had stopped his vehicle to change one of his tyres before the driver of the Ogun State House of Assembly rammed into the picnic car where the driver and one of the passengers of the Toyota picnic car died.

Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, said driver of the over-speeding Nissan Serena space bus was discovered to have been drunk as at the time of the crash.

The FRSC Sector Commander, however, explained that all the injured victims had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, while the two corpses were also deposited in the same hospital.
Adetunji added that the police had arrested the drunk-driver of the Nissan Serena space bus.
