Ondo Guber; LP Elects Economist As Candidate

The Labour Party (LP) in Saturday elected an economist, Mr Adeuti Stephen Taiye, as its flag-bearer for the November 16 governorship election in Ondo state.

At the event monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Adeuti was unanimously adopted by the party delegates after his only challenger, Mr Olugbenga Julius Ojo, stepped down for him during the exercise held in Akure.

The Returning Officer for the election and Deputy National Chairman of the party, Comrade Ladi Iliya, commended the aspirants for the spirit of sportsmanship and charged them to continue in that direction for the party’s success in the forthcoming election.

In his acceptance speech, the party’s candidate thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and vowed to lead the party to success in November.

The State Chairman of the party, Wale Gbakinro, appealed to members to start aggressive campaign for successful outing in November.
