Ibrahim Shuaibu in Kano
The Federal Inland Revenue Services, FIRS, has sealed off four major companies in Kano for non-payment of outstanding tax liabilities.
Upon the order of the Chief Executive Officer of the FIRS, the enforcement team led by Umar Garba sealed off three companies for withholding tax liabilities.
Earlier, Sani Brothers Transport Company Limited had been sealed for non-payment of N12, 356, 800.00, until it was later rectified in the company’s favour and was reopened.
Other companies sealed were Triumph Nigeria Limited for non-payment of N6,584,000.00, Multi System Consultants Limited for non payment of N3,335,651.00 and North West Cable Limited, manufacturers of KLYSAT cable and wire, for withholding N5,76,991.40.
The enforcement officer, Umar Garba, read the relevant law that empowered FIRS to carry out the action.
